JANS – Rho Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and its non-profit entity, The Ebony Pearls Foundation, will present its 2010 Calendar Girl Cotillion, at 7 p.m., Dec. 11 at Jackson State University’s new Student Center.
The sorority will present several young women from the Metro Jackson area during this gala event themed: Showcase of Elegance, Sophistication and Poise.
During the four-month Calendar Girl program, young ladies attended enrichment workshops covering such topics as self-esteem and body image, dating, money matters and proper etiquette. The contestants also participated in several community service projects.
After a long journey that consisted of fundraising, scrapbooking and Sunday afternoon practices, the contestants will showcase their achievements at the Calendar Girl Cotillion and at the end of the evening one young lady will be crowned Miss Calendar Girl 2011. Tickets are $40 per person.
