Lydia Robinson nets high honor

JANS – U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) recently met with Lynda Robinson of Jackson to commend her for the outstanding work she performs on behalf of Mississippi children in the foster care system.

Robinson is in Washington as the state’s 2012 Angel in Adoption, an honor for which she was nominated by Cochran.  She was formally presented with the award on Tuesday at an Angels in Adoption ceremony.  The Angels in Adoption program is supported by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI).

Robinson is currently an adoption recruiter for Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, a program established to move children from long-time foster care settings into adoptive families. She is a board member of the Mississippi Conference on Social Welfare and has been employed with Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth for more than a decade.
