Jackson Airport Firefighters Association “Fills the Boot” for MDA

Members of the Jackson Airport Firefighters Association (JAFA) Need Your Help to Fill Their Boots!

Airport Fire Fighters are out with their Boots as part of the North American “Fill the Boot Campaign” to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) at the JacksonMedgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN). Please be sure to help them Fill Their Boots and help MDA meet their research goals!

MDA is the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases. They do so by funding worldwide research; by providing comprehensive health care services and support to MDA families nationwide; and by rallying communities to fight back through advocacy, fundraising and local engagement.

In 1954, a relationship between the International Association of Firefighters (“IAFF”) and the MDA began when the IAFF chose MDA as its forever “charity of choice. This partnership would eventually produce a prolific fundraising endeavor called “Fill the Boot” — an annual donation drive that celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2014. Throughout its six-decade evolution, IAFF members across the United States and Canada have continually strengthened the Fill the Boot campaign, and today, IAFF is MDA’s single-largest fundraising partner and most ardent crusader to find a cure for neuromuscular disease, raising over $530 million since 1954.
