Peeples Middle School claimed second place as the runner-up, with teams from Blackburn and Powell Middle Schools finishing as semi-finalists. The Middle School Academic Challenge Bowl is an annual event sponsored by Beta Delta Omega through the sorority’s partnership with Jackson Public Schools.    Members of the winning Northwest team are: Sara Bibbs, Mya Brown, Tylen Miller, ShaKaniah Washington, Timothy Young, Joshua Mannery, alternates Noah Woods and Jeremy Grishby, and Coaches Yolanda Anderson, Anecia Washington and Marcus Johnson.  The middle school academic challenge bowl is similar to college quiz bowls. As in television game shows, students have a limited amount of time in which to respond. The team with the first accurate response within the time limit earns point. Please call the schools if you questions regarding the competition.  Pictures are attached of the winners from the 2011 competition held in late February.
