Thompson invites father Joseph Dyer to be his guest during the Pope’s visit

Today, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) announced that he has invited Father Joseph Dyer to be his guest during the address of His Holiness Pope Francis of the Holy See to the Joint Meeting of Congress. The event will be held on September 24, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hall of the U. S. House of Representatives.

Father Dyer previously served the Diocese of Jackson and is now assigned to St. Michael the Archangel, Forest, MS; St. Martin de Porres Center, Morton, MS; St. Anne, Newton, MS and St. Michael, Paulding, MS. Father Dyer has been involved in the prison ministry, visiting the Hinds County Detention Center on a weekly basis for the first nineteen years of his priesthood. Currently he serves on the Advisory Board of Catholic Charities, Jackson Diocese.
